Charlie...
Sidecar cocktail and warm food at Charlie Superstar, during a power faliure, on a miserable evening = yay! What a great atmosphere.

Port Elizabeth CBD
If only our CBD had been potected against harmful projects and demolitions, we'd have a truly special town square and surroundings. But much of what contributed to making PE's town square special was removed - numerous old buildings that held the square with their human scale, the mayor's garden etc. It really is a terrible shame.
And I just loathe the fly-over highway. Yes, it is convinient, but at what cost? It has cast a dark shadow over the CBD, seperating it from the harbour, not to mention fostering a generally unsafe feeling. There are so many issue I could raise in regard to the problems our CBD faces but I'll just post some pictures that focus on the positive aspects our CBD/Town Square retains.
*These photo's were taken late on a Sunday hence the place looks a little deserted.

Agyness Deyn For Mr Price
I was so excited when I heard that Miss Deyn would be working with Mr Price here in sunny South Africa! She's a huge name in the fashion industry and popular culture. Kudos to them for pulling it off!

Wanted: Fisherman's Pullover
Come to me, come to me fisherman's pullover...
I wish someone would surprise me by knitting one for me. Maybe I could find one in a second-hand shop because I doubt I'd find one in little old PE's selection of "high street" shops. Recently I called out a manager type at a well known retailer for stocking and promoting clothing that I felt was a bit out of touch. I'm against shops being overly trendy but I feel that our major retailers need to be more in tune with what people on the streets and overseas are wearing, and how they put what they are wearing together. The manager type asked me if I wanted to go to Cape Town and train to become a buyer - I told her I'm quite happy with my Architecture studies.

I'm Crazy About Coloured Glass
I'll have that light thanks. It's a bit over the top but it's fun and it definitely has a great presence at night.

Retro Chairs
I love random 50's/60's/70's chairs. I want them for my future weekend getaway with a veranda, somewhere on the outskirts of a town in the Western Cape or the Karoo. With a fantastic view ofcourse.
